Local Newport News chef expands café business, opens bigger location in Hampton: Expanding personal chef business and launching line of spice blends and dressings

HAMPTON, VA (July 1, 2022) – After 10+ years of running a successful local café in Newport News, MOMO’s Café owner, Martha Bennett, has moved to a new, bigger storefront in Hampton at 1930 Power Plant Parkway.

“This venture has been a labor of love since I started my personal chef and catering business in 2008 after deciding to leave the corporate chef world,” Bennett said. “I wanted to be my own boss and cultivate my craft to be a better chef and bring quality food and a quality experience to every customer.

With a larger storefront, Bennett will be able to cater to a much larger clientele. Her aim is to also expand her personal chef business and launch her own line of spice blends and homemade dressings.

Retail Alliance will be holding a ribbon cutting for MOMO’s Café on July 21, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. Vice Mayor Jimmy Gray will be in attendance and food will be offered to attendees.
